Dyke? Done it mate

 Hello Everyone,

It's been a while and I think it's time I finally update this blog before I start the other. I am very proud to say, that we have officially completed the whole stretch of Offas dyke. Over the course of many weekends the Trekkers set out to complete segment by segment of this great journey.

Our final stretch took us up over from Hay on Wye down to Pandy. And what a brilliant stretch it was. We were graced with the presence of several familiar faces as well as several new ones, all joining in to raise great effort and awareness of testicular cancer as well as our initial goal for the betterment of St Albans school.

This day was set a bit of a wild one, with rain from the days before turning the trail to a slip and slide. Bit would be a challenging initial incline up. Dredging through the tough mud, we continued to climb up and up where the set path changed from soil to stone. This was it, the final peak, several miles along sheer ledges, and an open cliff brow. Fighting strong winds we marched forward, only stopping to shelter away from the breeze and enjoy a nice lunch of sandwiches and cold deli delicacies we packed along with us. By 3pm we had already reached 15 miles of our 17 mile finale and had begun our decent into Pandy when the weather took a turn for the worse. Sharp spits of hailstones struck down on us, mixed with chilling winds sent us rushing down the hill seeking shelter. Several slips and a course adjustment later and we had finally done it. All 192 miles of Offas completed. A mission of community and comradeship had come to a close and now it was finally time to celebrate our sensational efforts

We rounded of this incredible achievement with a fantastic curry night at the hunters moon, a lovely local pub with incredible service and excellent quality food. We Met up with the head of St Albans and had a momentous toast to wrap up all we have done

On behalf of all the Trekkers we want to thank you all for your mind-blowing support. It has made a huge difference already on the young lives at St Albans and will continue to make a difference for many years to come. Please enjoy the following images and videos amassed on our final journey and we hope you join us as we take on Hadrian's Wall this Easter as we raise money to help support efforts in the Ukraine 🇺🇦.
